Watch me on mobile – Better vertical video!

Hellooo Insiders! Earlier this year, we updated our YouTube Player to automatically optimize the viewing experience for videos shot in any aspect ratio! This includes vertical videos, allowing you to shoot and upload videos in vertical mode (you no longer need to burn in any bars), which the user can then watch on mobile with an awesome, full vertical screen experience! This feature also just launched on desktop, automatically optimizing the viewing experience, based off the video’s aspect ratio.

Important : To take advantage of this feature, be sure to no longer burn in bars to your video. Simply upload the original video (vertical, square, landscape, or any other size) and your viewers will be able to watch with the best, full screen experience!
