In the twenty-eighth episode of ART+TECHNOLOGY, we meet Kathleen McDermott, a Brooklyn-based new media artist whose wearable creations push the limits of what is possible with hardware and fashion design.
Kathleen’s Social Escape Dress has been the subject of much attention. She created the dress in opposition to existing and upcoming Wearable technologies, which aim to improve human efficiency; the Social Escape Dress aims to make feeling stress visible, an expression which can interpreted as play or protest.
