We stopped by Acer’s to see the thinnest laptop in the world, the Acer Swift 7, a new gaming laptop the new Nitro 5 and a new Chromebook 11.
The Swift 7 is paper thin at just 8.98mm thick with an all black aluminium design, 14-inch corning gorilla touch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution, narrow bezels, Always connected with 4G LTE, 7th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 256GB PCIe SSD storage, 8GB LPDDR3 RAM, backlit keyboard, an all-day battery with up to 10 hours of usage and a windows hello compatible fingerprint reader.
The new Nitro 5 Gaming laptop is powered by Windows 10 and features a 15-inch Full HD IPS display, a front facing HD webcam, Dolby audio fine tuned for gaming, the latest AMD Radeon RX560 graphics card for fast rendering, an AMD Ryzen processor, DDR4 RAM up to 32GB, SSD for fast booting and loading, nitrosense utility for monitoring cpu/gpu and Acer’s coolboost for adjusting the cooling fan speeds, laser texture top cover, matte crimson red hinge, backlit keyboard and a bunch of ports like a USB Type C, HDMI 2.0, ethernet port. It will start from £899.99
Acer also announced a new the new Chromebook 11; it’s packed with 2 x USB Type C ports, option to choose a touch or non-touch display, Google Play support, 11.6-inch IPS display with 1366 x 768 resolution, HDR camera, dual-stereo speakers, it weighs 2.43 pounds and with a fanless design, it’s super quiet, you get up to 10 hours of battery life, an Intel Celeron processor coupled with either 2GB or 4GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB eMMC storage
and a MicroSD card reader too. Price starts £249
