From Junk to Great Gaming Laptop – Repairs + Upgrade + eGPU – Beyond Limits

The Laptop model is HP Probook 6450B, upgrades from i3 370M to i5 450M, from 2GB RAM to 8GB RAM, SSD instead HDD.

The eGPU is made from: EXP GDC v8.5, express card, GTX960 4GB, 550w PCU and simple aluminum case.

To setup the eGPU i need to do all manually. Searching and installing drivers, making some changes in drivers and i used DIY eGPU software ( making custom dsdt and few additional settings )

Games in this video: Serious Sam 3 BFE and Metro: Exodus

The performances with eGPU are good ( I mean on 1st gen ), but personally I Will NOT recommend the eGPU for 1st Gen Intel CPU’s. Setup may be very complicated with some models and the FPS is not very stable.

Recommended 2nd gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 CPU’s OR NEWER.
Before getting the EXP GDC check your laptop compatibility.
